Fame ≠ Attention

Brand fame is more than awareness — it is when people know that other people know the brand, creating social proof and cultural currency.
Posting a lot is not the same as building brand fame.
A brand can be active on social media, follow trends, work with creators, and still not become memorable outside the feed.
That is the difference between attention and fame.
Attention can happen quickly.
Fame takes consistency, distinctiveness, and enough cultural presence for people to recognize the brand even when they are not actively seeing the ad.
Fame is not just awareness. It is when people know that other people know the brand too. This basically explains why some brands feel bigger than their actual media spend, while others post constantly and still feel forgettable.
From a creative strategy perspective, the goal should not be to create endless content just to stay visible.
The goal should be to create a brand people can recognize, repeat, and remember.
Social media can help build fame.
But only if the brand has a clear identity worth carrying across every post, placement, and cultural moment.
